Nick Kaiser TributeA special tribute to Nick Kaiser's outstanding contribution to cosmology will be held on Wednesday 13th December. Nick Kaiser's fundamental contributions to the field of theoretical cosmology have had a significant impact on the study of large-scale structures of the Universe and the development of numerical and observational cosmology at these scales. His research was guided by a very deep physical insight. He identified the fundamental aspects of seemingly complicated phenomena to build simple models that focused on the core issues. His kindness, his boundless enthusiasm for scientific discussions, often provocative but always filled with humour, has inspired generations of cosmologists. The morning session will cover the simulation of large scale structures as part of the conference, in direct connection with Nick's core research, while the afternoon session will be devoted specifically to Nick's works and impact as a mentor. Long term collaborators, friends and familly will participate and join us to the conference dinner at the Eiffel Tower. The informal afternoon session will be divided into a few themes covering the broad scope of Nick's interests: 14:00 Part 1a: Science overviews chair: Joe Silk 12 minutes each,
15:30: 10-minute comfort break Part 1b: Career overviews Chair: John Peacock
16:00 Part 1c: Memories and personal remarks
17:30 Cocktail in forum (2nd floor) and hall. 20:20 rendez vous at bottom of Eiffel tower for dinner @ 21:00
You will find here photos taken during the tribute taken by Jean Mouette (in colour) and Henry McCraken (in B&W).
